Meet Raphael Garcia! Raphael is a recent online MS in Human Resources and Organization Development (MS HROD) graduate. We caught up with Raphael while he was in town for his graduation and were able to hear a little about his experience with the MS HROD program as an online student. Check out his interview below!

Resources for Military Students

The University of Louisville has a long-standing history of supporting members of the armed forces, both on campus and online through a multitude of resources. UofL is proud to have our Online Programs rated by U.S. News and World Report as “Best Online Programs for Veterans”, honored to be a Military Friendly® Gold designated institution for 2022-2023, and a Military Times “Best for Vets College”. We are passionate about our military students, and we offer several benefits to help them succeed, both in and out of school.

Discounted tuition rates and resources for Active-Duty members and qualifying members of the National Guard and Reserve:

The University proudly offers tuition discounts to those members serving on Active-Duty, including members of the Coast Guard. The tuition rate for these members is $250 per credit hour for undergraduate and $250 per credit for most graduate programs (some exceptions apply). Members of the Reserve and National Guard who qualify for Title X Tuition Assistance programs are also eligible for the $250 per credit hour rate. Service members must contact their installation Education Office or unit Education Officer for questions about Military Tuition Assistant programs, and before they enroll in any program. Waived application fee and priority course registration for Military students:

The University of Louisville currently waives the online application fee for personnel currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States (all branches and all components). This allows our service members the ability to focus on their application and program of interest without the monetary stress of an application fee. In addition to the application fee waiver incentive, UofL also offers priority registration once the student is accepted and enrolled in one of our 50+ online programs. Priority registration allows our military students the opportunity to schedule their classes before the regular online population, giving them the advantage and flexibility to take online courses around their busy schedules.

On-campus and online resources:

The University of Louisville’s online programs have a large military student population. In fact, 21% of students enrolled in UofL Online Programs are military-connected. Because of the large number of military-connected students, we offer a multitude of resources to help serve these students both on campus and online. Some of these resources include:

Our Center for Military-Connected Students, a dedicated team here to help answer any questions you may have during the process, from pre application interest to post-graduate employment opportunities.

Four Career Center’s to help our students find employment post-graduation:

- The University Career Center (UCC) serves 9 of the 12 colleges/schools for students in Arts & Sciences, Dentistry, Education and Human Development, Medicine, Music, Nursing, Public Health, or Social Work
- The Ulmer Career Center serves College of Business students.
- The Cooperative Education and Career Services serves Speed School of Engineering students
- The Office of Professional Development serves Brandeis School of Law students.
