UofL Online Marketing Wins UPCEA Gold Awards!

UofL’s Winter Session promotion won UPCEA Gold Awards in two separate marketing categories: “Mixed media campaign” and “Outdoor Signage.” These awards will be received at the 2018 Annual UPCEA Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar in November. 

UofL offered its inaugural winter session in 2017, with online courses delivered over a 3-week term during the winter break. The UofL Online marketing team within the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning created a promotional campaign that spanned across various channels and media. The physical campus advertising featured yard signs, banners, floor displays, pole wraps and window clings. Printed materials included flyers, posters, table tents and bookmarks. Digital advertising included banners, text ads, TV displays, web sliders, buttons and other custom assets.

The initial awareness campaign started mid-September, intensified around the registration start date, mid-October, and ended with the start of classes, mid-December. Upon conclusion of the session, on January 4, 2018, the Delphi Center surveyed all UofL students and gathered feedback regarding the effectiveness of the marketing campaign as well as regarding the courses offered, length of term and delivery.

Over 30 courses were offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels and course registration reached 650 by the start of the winter session. For the 2018 winter session, UofL will offer more than 60 online courses for students who want to get ahead, improve their grades, catch up on studies, or explore a new area of study in an accelerated format. About the Marketing and Enrollment Management Awards

The UPCEA Marketing Awards recognize the best marketing practices and promotional pieces, as well as enrollment excellence, in the field of professional, continuing, and online education. Association’s members are invited to enter their finest work for the academic year in the awards competition. The entries are reviewed by a panel of marketing, communication, and design professionals. Recipients are chosen and announced each fall.
